I have to admit that I was looking forward to Jessica and Phil’s wedding. Not only was the wedding in my hometown of Madison, WI, but Jessica and Phil were just so sweet. Soft-spoken and polite, Jessica’s eyes reveal her deep character. Phil is her light-hearted complement, the man who can make her laugh no matter what. In short, we adored them.
Jessica and Phil’s ceremony was held at the Pres house in downtown Madison. I loved the stonework and elaborate doorway on this building, and of course the intricate lacework on Jessica’s dress.
Meanwhile, Phil got ready with the help of his father. I love his intense look here:
Kamran waited with Jessica and her dad as they got ready for the big moment:
This shot makes me catch my breath:
The look on her face says it all (not to mention the look on Dad’s face!):
After the ceremony Phil and Jessica emerged to a world of bubbles and couldn’t look happier:
I just had to include this image, too. I think Jessica looks so beautiful in this candid image by Kamran:
Unfortunately, the rain started just as we were exiting the church. Not to be discouraged, we ran across the square to the gallery on the south side of the Memorial Union for a few shots with the wedding party:
Later, at the reception, Jessica and Phil made a new rule: instead of the traditional clinking-of-glasses, Jessica and Phil would only kiss when a member of the group got up and sang them a song. Well, Jessica’s grandfather stood up and serenaded the room with “If I Loved You” from Carousel. There was not a dry eye in the room.
